Qi Gong (氣功) (or ch'i kung) is an ancient breathing exercise that helps improve health and acquire extra power and strength (sometimes an almost magical power that can not be explained by science). It's a form to exercise one’s Qi (氣), or vital energy. It's an internal Chinese meditative practice which often uses slow graceful movements and controlled breathing techniques to promote the circulation of Qi within the human body, and enhance a practitioner's overall health. Although, there are also many forms of Qi Gong that are done with no movement at all, in standing, sitting and supine positions, likewise, not all forms of Qi Gong use breath control techniques. This cultivated internal strength is called Shen Gong (神功). The internal power generated by cultivation of strength building is called Nei Gong (內功).
